Passion: The engine for success

What is passion? And why is ours developing great solutions for you?

Both in professional and private life, most people strive to find their passion. But what does that actually mean? What exactly is passion? The expression finding passion sounds as if with enough searching one eventually arrives at personal enthusiasm and that it’s something external that can be grasped. Often one hears that people find their passion, for example, in their job. From my perspective, this thinking is incorrect.

Passion grows and changes

Passion is not something that can be found per se, but rather something that must grow and flourish over time. It is a fire that drives us and can ignite in infinitely many variations. Furthermore, it quickly becomes apparent through experimentation and reflection that we have several such fires within us.

How do I recognize my passion?

At some point, you become aware of which activity makes time fly by, which topic can captivate you endlessly, which things come to mind first thing every morning and what you dream about every night, what makes you angry when it doesn’t work out, and what makes you melancholic when you can’t pursue it. You recognize through your own emotions where and when you are more or less passionate. Often, you then unconsciously take paths that nurture this zeal and make use of it.

When does passion become an engine?

Some people know early on where their enthusiasm is stronger, others know after several iterations of job changes or through new hobbies. Once people know where their own passion lies, humans become unstoppable. Hours feel like minutes, and everything feels easier. The latter is important because passion doesn’t automatically make difficult topics easier. It helps us tackle difficult issues and ensures that overcoming hurdles and obstacles feels valuable.
